My Experience to get Indexed Fast
Blogger Indexing Issue - June 2021
Starting from end of May or early of June this year, I discovered that it became harder to index my post on my main blog, written in Mandarin.
Previously, it took me about few hours or less than 3 days to index my post on that blog. However, it started to take about a week for most of my posts to be indexed and discovered on Google Search Results.
Sometime, it may took me about a month to get few of my posts to be indexed on Google. How do you feel when your content written in June is indexed by July? Late and slow indexing process recently will definitely affect our ranking on google search, not to mention about the traffic lost when an occurrence become less popular.
For example, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 took place between July 23rd to August 8th in year 2021. Many people was searching for the competition of all games online. If you write something related to this Olympic game or any athletes story during that time and the post is indexed soon, you can get some organic traffic from users who search for this competition.
However, if your content is indexed after the game was ended, you should expect there is lesser users to read your content because people is not going to searching for this game constantly as what it look like during Olympic game.
This indexing problem has been taunted me for 2 months, so I switched my platform to YouTube and tried to experience on how to manage and maintain a YouTube channel while uploading some content that should be popular at that time.
Blogger Indexing Issue - Server Error (5XX)
Until now, I'm still not sure why this indexing problem came out, maybe it was due to an incident between Blogger platform and Google Search Console (GSC) . Since early of June, many blogger started to complain about 5XX error as they found out that they can't request GSC to index their posts by pressing Test Live View. When there is a 5XX error, blogger users can't index their posts through GSC and that is a major problem for those who depend on blogger to earn income.
There were tons of blogger users complaint in Blogger community, some product experts there tried to contact with someone who can help to solve this issue but they fail to fix it quickly. Instead, the problem was fixed in 2 months , that is equal to 8 weeks + time, and the 5XX server error seems to be fixed now.
During that time, I also tried few things to get my posts published and they failed. I tried to submit 2 types of sitemap, the normal Sitemap and also an Atom Sitemap to my GSC but there was no significant effect on improving my indexing speed. I also tried to publish my posts to various social platform and forum, pinging search engine with my website's sitemap but they failed too.
How can I make index links faster?
But recently I discovered a method to get the content posts to be indexed faster.I'm still doing my experiment and I might share more of this method to you if it is successful with more attempts done. Two posts were indexed within 40 minutes after I published them.
The process of me getting my posts to be indexed
- Submit normal and Atom Sitemap on Google Search Console.
- Write the content, search description and decide its permalink.
- Schedule the publish time 1 hour or 2 hour after current time.
(e.g. current time is 11:32 a.m. then I round up to 1:00 or 2:00 P.M.) - Wait for 5 minutes and update both sitemap after the post is published.
- Indexing will be happen soon, for my case it took me about 30 minutes.
