The finding published date is done by using source code inspection in which timestamp attached. inserting a specific term in the URL to find the date published or navigating the page special area to find the date published.

One of the best methods of finding the published date of the website article is by using a search engine. A search engine like google gives you a date attached to your search result. This date is even a date published or date modified. date published is when the post is being published and date modified is when the post is got its modification.

simply go to google.com and search your query. Google shows your result and date attached to that result shown in the screenshot below.

in this screenshot, you clearly saw that the date is given of post. but the problem is that it is either date of publication or modification. it's not accurate.

in this method, there is two problem

1. confusion with the date published and the date modified
2. not all post has a date in SERP

but it is a fast way to determine the date published and modify any posts.

If you are in hurry then use this method because it is a fast and accurate way of finding the publication date of the website as well as post.

 2. checking the URL for the publication date

The URL of a website post is the best accurate way of finding the published dates of website posts or pages. open a website in which you wish to find a published date. 

navigate the URL in the top column and see any time information like shown in the screenshot.

by inspecting URL you can only year and months of the website published but it has a drawback, not all websites have this type of URL structure. you can see this type only in the blogger content management system and WordPress system if set.

but no problem if you do not see this type of URL structure then follow the second tip for that.

not all websites' URL structures have the same as given because this method is limited for specific websites.

3. viewing the source code for a publication date

is the best and accurate way to find the publication date and modification date of any possible website pages.

open the website of which wish to find the published date

wait for until page fully load

press ctrl+U 

after this step, you will get the full source code of that website page.

in the source code of the website, there is a lot of confusion but don't worry.

simply press ctrl+F for the search button to appear.

in the comment section of the website is a way of finding the date of publication. it is not accurate as of the above method but you can use this for guessing the date of publication of website or post.

open the comment section of the website then navigate username and see the date stamps.

not all websites allow the date stamps attached with comments so it is not possible for all websites.

5. URL tricks for the published date

you can use the URL trick for finding a date of publication. this trick allows you to find data direct from google. in this trick, you need a chrome browser.

step1:  open the chrome browser and search the website where you wish to find the publication date. open the website and copy the URL given at the top of the website.

step2:  paste the website URL in the google search box and insert the [ inurl: ] at the beginning of the URL.

step3: insert the [&as_qdr=y15 ] at the end of the URL then tap the search button.

step4: see the date of publication.

6. inspection of the top of pages

one of the easiest ways of finding a date of publication is by inspecting the website page top section. in this section lot of websites have date timestamps for their users to inform the date of the article published.

you can simply navigate the top section of any website for finding a date of publication.

tips

• a lot of websites hide the there original date of publication because they protect their content from being outdated. that website shows you the date of the last modification.
• by checking the website's published date you can find the date is new or old outdated content.
